Day 40: Before I sign my life away...

As routine goes, I checked my emails early this morning to check if the landlord had replied to our decision of what house we want in France. And he had! In the email were our individual contracts - exciting! I opened it and the whole thing is in French. As well as copying and pasting most of it into Google Translate, I sent it to my mum (who is a fluent French speaker) for an easy translation, her opinions and/or concerns.

My reaction exactly!

After her valuable feedback, I have now given the landlord some questions to answer before I sign, send and give away the few precious pennies I own. It's better to be safe than sorry!

Today me, the other intern and the Latvia student helping with our new film project met up for a meeting. I say "meeting" but  it wasn't very formal. We were in the dorms, sitting in a communal kitchen. But we managed to plan as much as we could for filming over the next 2 weeks and editing the week after. Tomorrow, I plan to film some beautiful shots of Valmiera so I hope the weather stays hot!

Right, I'm going to need a helicopter...

There's been some development with the fridge. Less water seems to be pouring out now but when I went to open the freezer compartment, it was nearly frozen stuck. I managed to wrench it open but the packaging of the food was stuck to the surrounding ice. I literally had to break the ice around the food just to get out my chips! My fingers are still throbbing from the cold and that was 3 hours ago.

It was nearly as bad as this.

I can't believe I'm starting my second film project here already. I only have just over a month left in Latvia - where did all the time go? Less killing mosquitoes and obsessing over leaking fridges and more adventure is needed, I think!

Capturing a beautiful Latvian sunset outside my window.

Such beauty is priceless... unlike my French house!
