Day 39: Homeless no more!

I managed to wake up in time to attend the weekly Monday meeting with my new project manager for our next film. I tried so hard to concentrate but it's like the jazz music from the festival is on a loop in head.

De boopBoop bep. Do-duddle-do. Dep-de-dum. De-dum do-de-dum.

After we reassured our manager that everything was on track and the film will be completed in 3 weeks, I planned the shots and locations with the Latvian student helping with admin and Latvian translations. I'm glad she is so organised - my type of person! I reckon I could make a good film or TV producer one day... or perhaps a voice actor?

Why a voice actor, I hear you say. As I arrived home, I received a call from the project manager of the jazz festival film asking if I would like to do some voiceovers for a promotional film he is making and, of course, I said yes with no hesitation. I have done some voiceovers in the past, but nothing really official or professional. I suppose this is another advantage of having an English accent. Before I went into the recording booth, he suggested that I read through the script, which really meant PROOFREAD it. I didn't mind, seeing as I was the one saying the text: I could cater it to my way of speaking etc. I did one recording and suggested we do another just in case.

I did need to leave the booth a few times to breathe - there was no air in there - but both takes went very well. He told me about another animation film he is also making, so I proofread the script in advance for the recording some time this month.

I can already hear the producers of Ice Age calling my name!

When I got home (for good this time), I thought it would be best to work on one of my aims for this week and develop some pros and cons for each of the potential houses I will rent with two other housemates in France. It was a tough one. Both houses just seem so perfect. My only cons for one house was having no swimming pool. That was soon outweighted by having the Mediterranean Sea just over the road!

My decision-making face.

Eventually I made my decision - I want the house right near the beach. I just needed the decisions of the other housemates and email the landlord. I feel so happy and relieved to say that we all agreed to the same house and have now confirmed it with the landlord. Everything is finally moving forward! I just need to book my flights, fill in a bit more paperwork and I'm going to France!

I have a feeling this will be a very good week. There is one bad thing though - my fridge is leaking. I'm not sure why. And I don't know how to control the temperature dial inside. I'm afraid that if turn it up or down and come back home one day, I'll open the fridge and find myself knee high in water... In an ideal world, I would like to wait for the sea to go swimming...

Another list of pros and cons for this one, perhaps?
