Day 4: So the work begins...

When I arrived in Latvia, my mind immediately starting racing around thinking that I must see everything now! But I'm here for 3 months, which is quite a long time. Hopefully, because my hours working will be flexible, I will get spare time to explore the wonders of Latvia! I hope to go on a self-made tour of Valmiera with the other intern on Saturday and then go to Riga (about 100km from here) on Sunday with the kind student who met me from the airport. Until then, work is in order.

A beautiful sunset from yesterday... just calms me right back down!

So today was the day when me and the other intern were going to be introduced to the multimedia staff at the university, part of a project called "ViA Medija". We talked about the projects we were going to do, which all sound so exciting, and then shown the cameras, tripods and sound equipment we were going to be given.

I was actually meant to go to yoga today with my friend, but she was ill today, but definitely next time! I hope to experience things that I've never done before, yoga being one of them! So instead I went shopping in the local supermarket. Everything is so cheap here compared to England, but I mustn't take advantage of this too much... yet. One thing I must say is thank goodness for pictures on labels! Another thing that is really different here is the expiry dates, especially with dairy products. In England, you can buy milk that lasts up to a month. Here, milk expires in 5 days. This is because the milk is less pasteurised, but is more natural as a result. I'm just going to have to get used to this!

Comfort food!

My schedule is pretty much packed for the rest of this week, but the next two weeks should be much less busy as we can edit on my partner's laptop in our hostel instead of going into the university!

I didn't think I would but I am starting to miss the UK... Feeding my biscuit addiction is helping though.
